New Life/Death Logo

I designed a new Logo for Life/Death and Life/Death AE. It’s hand drawn with posca pens and I really like how it turned out. I wanted it to look similar, but slightly different; which I think I was able to pull off. The main reason for the change is that I realized that I couldn’t remember which font’s I had used for the old logo and if they were completely free to use or if I needed a license to use them. I was only able to find the font I used for Life which I had downloaded off of Dafont.com. The problem was that the version I had originally downloaded was fully free, but there was another version of the same font that is a licensed version.

So to avoid accidentally using someone else work without a proper license, I just redid the logo by hand and changed a much as I could so no one could say I was using their font. This is probably what I should have done in the first place, but I was sure that the ones I downloaded were 100% free to use.

The idea behind the logo was always that it was the way that both character write their name, and it’s suppose to show the difference in their personalities. Death writes in a cursive style, while Life has a more gothic style to her writing.

So now, I’ll be going back and changing all the old logos to the new version in the comics and other media anywhere I’ve every posted them. So I’m gonna be busy for a while. But thankfully since the new logo is now 100% mine, I can use it for some merch ideas I wanted to try for myself. Who knows, maybe one day when Life/Death becomes big - I’ll start selling some of that merch here on the website.
